About Me

img_7230 I’m just your typical small town gal with a bad case of wanderlust who escaped to see the world. Born a lover of music, animals, art, and food. My favorite activities include exploring the great outdoors, watching and quoting movies, seeing live bands, daydreaming, learning new things, and spending time laughing with my friends and beloved family.  Few random fun facts: I am the oldest of 10 siblings, I have far too many forms of cups for one person, and collect things with lips designs.

I graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in May 2014 with a degree in Journalism, specializing in Advertising and a minor in Psychology.  I have a natural passion for helping people and would like to someday work for an nonprofit organization, doing something that would put some good back into the world.

I moved to the Nashville area almost a year ago thinking a new adventure was all I needed to kick my small hint of depression I had going to the curb, and it was definitely a step in the right direction.  I’m currently living in the geographical state I wanted, but not exactly the state of mind, just yet.  Turns out it’s hard making friends in a new city while trying to be an adult, mostly because my call center job isn’t really a good fit for me, has a 40 minute commute from where I live, and is on an opposite schedule of normal human beings with the potential to be new friends.

So, even though Nashville seemed like the perfect place for my interests, since I moved to the area, I haven’t been able to enjoy much of those previously mentioned activities I love. Which, in turn, only kicked my “hint of depression” up a notch. So, to combat those pesky depressive feelings and lazy habits I decided that I am going to use this blog to force me to get out and about and explore the city like I want to.

This blog will at least just be something somewhat therapeutic and fun for me, if nothing else.  And any of you kind enough to follow along, you will get to see the awkward life of me and my Great Dane, Dori, on our mini adventures.

Thank you for taking an interest in my goofy page! I’m really just doing what I do to make this life an adventure while I’m here.
